About Me
For decades, I lived with chronic illness — pushing through, surviving, and searching for answers that never seemed to last. Doctors gave me labels, but no real solutions. Healing felt impossible… until I discovered the missing piece.
I’m Amari, a coach and mind-body practitioner specialising in nervous system rewiring, neuroplasticity, and transformational emotional integration. My work is rooted in both research and lived experience, as I personally recovered from decades of chronic complex illness.
Before my work in the healing space, I was a writer-director of films and an acting coach. Though it may seem unrelated, directing and supporting actors taught me how deeply emotions are held in the body, how past experiences shape our responses, and how accessing buried emotions can bring profound transformation. It was only later that I realised these same principles applied to healing — how stored emotional patterns contribute to chronic illness, and how embodiment work can help release them. This connection has deeply influenced the way I guide people today to consciously integrate their being.
My health struggles began in childhood, with pains and symptoms that doctors dismissed. As I grew older, the symptoms intensified, but I learned to push through — until my body could no longer keep up. By my early forties, chronic illness had made any semblance of a normal life impossible. I had spent decades surviving rather than really living.
For years, I cycled through diagnoses — Chronic Back Pain, IBS, Depression, Anxiety, CFS/ME, Fibromyalgia, and even Cancer. Each label came with a new treatment, a new hope. But nothing lasted. My body always returned to illness. I felt trapped — until I began to understand the deeper role of stress, emotions, and the mind-body connection in chronic illness.
Along the way, repeated traumas intensified symptoms, and I came to learn about the relationship between buried stressors and these health challenges. Throughout those years, my grief was overwhelming, and my hope was often crushed. I wrestled with painful questions about the purpose of life.
When I was bedbound and my body was breaking down, I began to seek from the heart. I explored healing across traditions — studying neuroplasticity, somatic approaches, emotional healing and spiritual wisdom. I searched for answers that bridged both mind and body, and through this, I developed the structured approach I now use to help others navigate this path.
In every great film, the hero faces an unexpected plot twist — one that changes everything. My own plot twist? My years of illness were teaching me the value of my soul. It took decades to believe in a story where I was unconditionally loved.
It was on this foundation of soulful healing that I began to experience physical relief and mind-shifts. I discovered the role of the Mind, Body and Spirit in chronic systemic illness and began rewiring and reintegrating my whole system with a blend of cognitive, somatic and heart-based practices.
Through my own healing journey, I came to understand something profound: true and lasting recovery isn’t just about one piece of the puzzle — it’s about bringing mind, body, and heart into full alignment.
Many healing approaches focus on just one aspect — and I studied and practiced each in turn; nervous system regulation (somatic body-based), brain and cognitive retraining (mind-based). But I found that working on just one often led to progress that didn’t fully hold, and the missing piece in my journey turned out to be emotional healing (heart-based). True recovery for me meant the Mind, Body and Heart needed to come together into alignment.
This realisation came from lived experience, combined with many books and studies. When I finally integrated all three in a safe, supported way — I stopped cycling through illness. My body, my mind, and my heart were able to heal.
I know now that this journey isn’t about forcing a transformation. It’s about creating the conditions where the mind-body system naturally restores itself. My work is about helping others do just that — through understanding, through deep emotional integration, through brain and nervous system rewiring, and through uncovering the inner wisdom that makes real recovery possible.
Over time, I began to get my life back: from bedbound to sitting up, then walking, then traveling, and then building my coaching business. As my neurological capacity opened up, I intentionally processed grief and began drawing protective boundaries, both of which ushered in more healing.
I began to build on my research, feeling blessed to be able to travel to study in-person under thought-leaders in healing and spiritual masters alike. I had always been deeply committed to education and growth, with honours and postgraduate degrees from my early life, and this felt joyous to be able to do.
Today my focus is to honour and resource body, mind and soul by offering holistic practices for the nervous system, brain, and heart.
Healing isn’t just about reducing symptoms — although that is the important first stage; it’s also about reclaiming life. Today, I get to live a life that once felt impossible. I split my time between Europe and the U.S.A, spending my time near the ocean, feeling deeply connected to nature and the simple joys of living. But what matters most is not where I am, but how I feel — peaceful, present, and whole. And that’s the kind of transformation I want to help you experience too.
I am so glad you’re here.
