Lesson 01: How This Works and What to Expect

This is the beginning of a new way of approaching your recovery—one that is built on safety, ease, and self-compassion.

Welcome from Amari

The first thing I want you to do is to give yourself the message of worthiness. Really give yourself a heartfelt congratulations.  By being here, you are turning your loving attention to yourself, to your own healing and to finding the answer to the questions in your heart.

It’s very brave. Most people in your life don’t understand what you are going through, and so it is very tough. I am proud of you… and I want you to be proud of yourself.

From Searching to Healing

I know that you have been working so hard to find answers, searching for solutions, and trying everything possible to get better. This resource is here to help you shift out of the stressful “searching” mode. Instead of more protocols, restrictions, or complicated techniques, I will guide you in creating the right conditions for your body and mind to settle into safety.

Even though you have put in months or years, or for some people, decades already, see if you can approach this like a new adventure… or if that’s way too optimistic for now, like a new job. We can call that new job “healing work.”

I am calling it “work” because I want you to start to differentiate between real rest (the kind that actually helps you feel restored!) and the pressures of all that healing work you have been doing up to now.

How to Use This Mini Course

  • Try to visit these lessons daily, just for a few minutes.
  • Take your time. There is no rush to get to the end, and there is nothing you need to “achieve.”
  • Healing happens through gentle, repeated experiences, not through force.
  • Give yourself permission to go slowly. Absorbing information can be difficult, so don’t worry if you re-read the same article several times and feel like you aren’t “progressing.” Being here is enough.

Become Present in this moment

Take a breath now and just feel where you are, come into the present moment. You can put your hand on your heart and say to yourself on the outbreath "Body, I am here". Then do it again with your eyes closed. Then, "Heart, I am here".

A short Meditation

Now you have done great work in reading all of this. It’s time to try a restorative rest and then how about a hot drink or a nice reward for yourself?

Here is a video I would like you to listen to (it’s just audio). You can just stay where you are and play this ten minute meditation from Mooji. After it is playing, close your eyes (if you can).

You don’t need to concentrate or worry about what the words mean.

Just sit there or lie there.

Let it play. That’s all.

Well done! 💗 Your first lesson is complete 💗

Take a moment to let this settle. There’s no rush — giving your nervous system time to absorb and integrate is part of the foundation for recovery.

If it feels right, you can return tomorrow for your next lesson. But if you feel called to continue now, you are welcome to explore the next step.
