Working with Emotions and Tapping
In our healing journeys, especially when chronic pain, fatigue, or LongCovid leave us feeling overwhelmed, our emotions can sometimes feel like heavy clouds. Working with these emotions is a powerful step toward reclaiming balance and peace. One gentle yet potent tool I’ve found helpful is EFT Tapping—an approach that invites you to release trapped energy with kindness and care.
What Is EFT Tapping?
EFT, or Emotional Freedom Technique, involves lightly tapping on specific meridian points on your face, hands, and upper body while speaking. Think of it as a loving touch for your energy system—one that helps to dissolve stressors, release emotional blocks and rewire neural pathways, restoring a sense of ease.
A Loving Invitation to Practice
I invite you to try a guided EFT practice that I designed specifically for those with chronic illness – to help ease fear, anxiety, and stress. In the video below, I gently walk you through the tapping process. Whether you’re sitting up in bed or nestled in your favourite cosy chair, this video offers a simple, nurturing way to start releasing the weight of feelings you might be carrying today.
Before you begin, a gentle word of caution:
EFT Tapping is a gentle practice for releasing stressors and emotions, and this guided video is suitable for beginners to the practice. However, if your condition is very severe or you’re feeling extremely fragile at this very moment, please honour your current state and consider waiting until you feel a bit more stable if you have never tried EFT before.

Embrace the Healing Journey
EFT Tapping played an essential role in my early recovery, and I hope it can offer you a space of relief and self-compassion too. As you experiment with this practice, remember: every step you take is a meaningful act of self-care. Allow yourself the grace to be imperfect and to feel whatever arises, knowing that you are nurturing your body, mind, and spirit.
Take a deep breath and let your emotions flow gently. You’re doing something wonderfully loving for yourself today.
Integrating this Practice
After you do this Emotional Freedom Technique tapping session for the first time, take a moment to reflect on any shifts in your emotions or sensations. Consider jotting down your thoughts in a journal as a gentle way to honour your progress.
💗 Well done for embracing this practice, and remember that every step, however small it may seem, is a victory on your path to recovery.
✨ A Gentle Next Step:
You can return to this practice whenever you need relief or a moment of connection with your body. Over time, this practice helps rewire your brain, ease symptoms, and build trust between mind and body. If sensations shift or intensify before settling, know that this is part of the process. Your body is learning, and you are guiding it with compassion.
