What is Somatic Tracking
Somatic Tracking is a gentle, mind-body practice designed to help you shift your relationship with symptoms by observing them with curiosity and acceptance, rather than fear or resistance. The word “somatic” means “relating to the body” and the word “tracking” means a way of “giving attention”. So when you hear the term “somatic tracking” it means TO GIVE ATTENTION TO THE BODY.
I have created a guided audio meditation for you, using somatic tracking to relieve pain and symptoms. Allow my voice to gently guide you and help to ease you – especially if you have heavy symptoms or find yourself in a flare-up today. 💗
In this 20 minute guided session, I help you use this somatic technique to give your own awareness and unconditional acceptance to you, to your Mind, Body and Spirit, and to your current situation. It’s very helpful to do this. You may find fast relief.
💗 By doing this meditation, you may find an immediate lessening of symptoms 💗
Please be aware that as you begin to give attention to your body, your symptoms may shift and move around whilst going through the process. It’s safe but you can choose to build up gradually to become accustomed to the process. You may experience trembling or shivers, yawning, the sensation of heat, or gurgling in your tummy – these are all great signs, so try not to worry if you feel these shifts and changes as you give attention to yourself.
The Historical Context for Somatic Tracking
The practice of observing bodily sensations with non-judgmental awareness has been central to Vipassana meditation, an ancient Buddhist tradition dating back over 2,500 years. Vipassana teaches practitioners to witness bodily sensations without attachment or aversion, allowing the nervous system to process and release stored tension.
This laid the foundation for modern somatic healing approaches, which now integrate insights from neuroscience and trauma research to help retrain the brain’s response to symptoms. Somatic Tracking is an evolution of practices that have long supported healing through presence, awareness, and deep mindbody connection.
Guided Somatic Tracking Session Video
For some people somatic tracking is a powerful tool that can lead to an almost instant lessening of pain and symptoms by the end of the session.
As you are guided through the 20 minutes, you can take slightly deeper breaths if it becomes uncomfortable.
💗 Consider the act of breathing a little deeper as a way to send a hug to the inside of your body 💗
Breathe a fraction deeper on each in-breath and send that breath to wrap around any uncomfortable sensation or symptom inside of you, just like if you were hugging a small child.
By allowing yourself to go through this process, you are giving yourself unconditional acceptance which is so very healing.
💗 Thank you for being here 💗
Honouring Your Internal Wisdom
🌿 Your system is not working against you — it is seeking balance, safety, and release. Through somatic tracking, you are learning to gently guide your awareness inward, offering yourself presence and acceptance rather than resistance or fear.
✨ A Gentle Next Step:
You can return to this practice whenever you need relief or a moment of connection with your body. Over time, this practice helps rewire your brain, ease symptoms, and build trust between mind and body. If sensations shift or intensify before settling, know that this is part of the process. Your body is learning, and you are guiding it with compassion.
💗 You are safe. You are supported.
